The Conference Planning Committee and Board of Directors would like to thank you for attending the 2010 Elevator U Conference this past week! It was a great time and we appreciate Jeff Cooper, Purdue University, offering his campus for the conference. Jeff has hosted many conferences including the first two back in 1998 and showed how first class Purdue University is.
Listen to what Mike from the Unversity of Alabama had to say.
Elvis and I would like to thank everyone at Purdue University and Elevator U for their hard work making last week a wonderful experience for us. We submitted a letter on Friday to the administration at UA reporting on our time at the conference. They are very pleased as they understand the importance of Elevator U in terms of making the elevator shop a safer and more efficient place to work.
Thank You,
Mike & Elvis
The University of Alabama
Elevator Maintenance Team
The Board would like to offer a special welcome to our new board members, Steve Pydynowski , Wayne Koepke and Martin Culp. We’d also like to thank Matt Wright and Brad Haldeman for their hard work in making Elevator U a better organization.
In the upcoming weeks we’ll be editing and uploading the presentation videos onto the website. We’ll also be sending out an e-mail with the attendee list shortly.
Continuing Education Session Participants – Please note that we will be sending out the necessary documentation to NAESA, EIWFP, the State of Indiana and the State of Illinois by the middle of next week. Certificates will be e-mailed by the end of next week. We appreciate your participation and hope those who attended had a great time.
Thanks once again to everyone for making the 2010 EU Conference a success.
Sincerely,
Elevator U BOD & Conference Planning Committee

May 10, 2010 - The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation announces the creation of four new positions on its Board of Regents. The recruiting committee has put forth the suggestion that the Board create four regents and alternate positions specific to the following industries: Insurance, Public Transit, Universities and Schools and Building Owners/Managers. These positions will be vacant unless filled specifically by the representatives.
The goal of this initiative is to create a strong Board of Regents to oversee the running of the Foundation from the perspective of the vertical transportation industry as well as those industries that rely heavily on the equipment.
Join us in the Recruit for Safety campaign! Do you have an interest in helping EESF spread the word on Elevator and Escalator Safety? Do you know an industry member that would be a perfect fit? EESF is actively seeking nominations for individuals to fill the positions. Nominations for suitable board members may be sent to:

After a massive spam bot attack on our forum it was taken down three months ago. Sounds like some kind of sci-fi movie. Over the weekend an update to the software which included some additional antispam features hopefully will prevent this from happening in the future. All users and board posts were removed and so where the users so if you were registered before you’ll need to go back and re-register.
Visit www.elevatoru.org/forum or click the link in the right hand colum under EU Links and you’ll find it.
